disorienting
the way you put your hands upon my flesh
and I become like glass
fragile and transparent
the light bending
refracting in every direction
peering into my windows
those flecked green marbles
behind thin pink shutters
how they expose all that I am
when I leave the curtains open
just for you
do you feel my shards crunching beneath your feet
as your careful steps break into a comfortable stride
oblivious
(or perhaps, impervious)
to the damage you’ve inherited
this destruction scattered all around you
unexpectedly,
a mysterious core is discovered,
some hidden magnetic center
attracting and reassembling
those missing pieces
of this beautifully broken mosaic
as the sun blazes through
and shadows suddenly transform
into sparks of brilliant living color
